Web development and automation

I use AI to buildwhat used to takeentire teams.

I ship websites, automations, and integrations. AI does a lot of the production work. I still decide what gets built.

Twenty-plus years of web development and marketing sit underneath that. AI lets the same experience cover more of the work.

In the build, AI helps with scaffolding, refactors, content pipelines, image processing, and test coverage. I still review what ships.

Contract talent, for comparison

One developer did this whole stretch.

A national professional services firm. About ten weeks, ten project areas, twenty-nine deliverables. The ~$200 a month was the AI tool cost while that work was in flight. The project fee is separate. Comparable contract talent usually runs $20–30K a month.

01 Services

Four kinds of work

Most projects use more than one of these.

  1. 01UX / UI

    AI-Powered Web Development

I keep WordPress where it still fits, and build custom when the site has outgrown it. A rebuild is usually a few weeks. The interface follows how people move through the site.

  2. 02AI workflows

    Intelligent Automation & Integration

HubSpot and other CRMs, wired into the day-to-day work. Workflows and data pipelines take the routine handoffs.

  3. 03Site management

    AI-Augmented DevOps & Delivery

GitHub Actions for CI/CD, feature branches, and pull requests you can read. The same delivery habits as a software team, run by one person.

    Site management
  4. 04Dashboards

    Strategy, Analytics & Optimization

SEO and conversion work tied to the job a page has to do. Custom dashboards, and a roadmap for what to do next.

02 Work

Selected work

In-house work for a national professional services firm. The firm stays unnamed.

  1. In-house

    Expert directory

Interactive map, advanced filtering, inline contact forms

Rebuilt the expert directory. You can filter the list, read it on a map, and contact someone from the listing.

Map of the United States beside a scrollable list of experts. Personal details in the list are blurred.
Directory list in a card grid. Photos, names, and contact details are blurred.
The same directory list with a filter applied. Photos, names, and contact details are blurred.
  2. In-house

    Profile portal

450+ people, passwordless login, moderation workflow

People keep their own profiles current. Login is passwordless. Edits go through a moderation workflow.

  3. In-house

    Headshot pipeline

540 photos to 272 finished images, in hours

540 source photos became 272 finished images in a few hours. They were cropped and deduplicated in a pipeline, without a manual Photoshop pass.

  4. In-house

    Lead intake

    HubSpot form, reconciled daily

Rebuilt the primary lead form on HubSpot. Submissions get a daily reconciliation.

Lead intake form asking for contact details, company, and how the person heard about the firm.
  5. In-house

    Analytics dashboards

    Informed a key design decision

Custom analytics dashboards. One of them settled a key design decision on the engagement.

  6. Side project, in progress

    Sectional sofa configurator

An interactive configurator for furniture dealers. Separate from the firm work above, and still in progress.

Sectional sofa configurator showing a built sectional in a light fabric, with width and depth callouts.
Sectional sofa configurator on the summary step, with the sofa and a list of pieces.

03 Approach

How I use AI on a project

I make the decisions, use AI for production, and ship with the habits of a software team.

How I work

01 / 05 · Brief

Name the constraint

We write down what has to be true in the next few weeks, and leave the rest for later.

02 / 05 · Prototype

Get something real in front of you

I build a working slice early. Pages and flows you can click through, so we can check the direction before the rest of the build.

03 / 05 · Automate

Use AI on the repetitive work

The model drafts, refactors, and handles repetitive production like scaffolding, content, images, and tests. I decide what the form asks, which pages stay, and whether an integration is doing the right thing.

04 / 05 · Ship

Build in the open

Feature branches, pull requests, and GitHub Actions. You can read a change before it ships. Deploys are routine.

05 / 05 · Measure

Leave a system you can run

You get notes, dashboards, and workflows your team can run. I stay available, and the work keeps moving if I take a week off.

04 About

Ethan Ede. Portland, Oregon.

EE Creative, LLC is my studio. I’ve spent twenty-plus years in web development and marketing, building the work and answering for whether it moves the business.

It’s one person. The volume comes from the workflow: senior judgment, AI-assisted production, and the review habits of a software team.

A good fit

  • 01Small and mid-sized businesses whose WordPress sites have fallen behind the company
  • 02Marketing teams that need development and don’t have a developer on staff
  • 03Companies drowning in manual data or content operations
  • 04Owners who want a straight answer on where AI fits, and where it would only add noise
